We just wrapped up another wonderful family visit.
My mom came early and we had an amazing day playing at the beach. We got Graham all dressed before we even got out of the car (15 months, 7 days old):
Graham started the day running at full speed from one end of the beach to the other (15 months, 7 days old):
Eventually he slowed down to play with some other children’s toys (15 months, 7 days old):
and when the other children were ready to reclaim their toys, Graham discovered his own set of toys and had a blast pouring out the bucket of water and making Mommy go fetch refill after refill.
When the weekend rolled around, we headed to Palm Springs to visit with Nick’s aunt Jan and cousin Niki. Jan has been very successful with a diet recently, and she got us all out of the house for a morning hike in the desert:
Graham started off hiking on his own (15 months, 9 days old):
then decided to be held while chugging water (15 months, 9 days old):
and ended with a snooze before waking back up in the car (15 months, 9 days old):
Jan and Nick posed in front of the San Andres Fault:
and led the way, making sure to point out all the desert critters:
After the hike, we all got in the pool to play. Graham and Nick were still covered in Graham’s heavy duty baby sunscreen, so they are both sporting the white faces (15 months, 9 days old):
Graham loved splashing around and we got some cute videos of the little dude in action (15 months, 9 days old):
After a pause from the pool time (due to an unfortunate poo incident – that will go down in my mind as the most disgusting parenting moment to date) we were all cleaned up and back in the water for some relaxation time in the hot tub (15 months, 9 days old):
The next morning, Graham enjoyed some bonding time with Niki and Jan. They read stories, ran around the house, and posed for pictures (15 months, 10 days old):
I couldn’t help adding in this video of Graham enjoying a recorded book that Jan gave him. It was a real treat for Graham to hear Jan read to him in person after so many hours of listening to the book at home (15 months, 21 days old):
Graham even took a short walk outside with Daddy to get out some energy before the drive home (looks like it worked) (15 months, 10 days old):
Great Aunt Jan gave Graham a special Easter basket present and here are some pictures of Graham playing with his special new toys (16 months, 1 day old):
We met up with my Dad, back in Santa Barbara, and took a quick trip to the park. Graham posed in front of his favorite climbing wall and then had so much fun with Grammy and Grandpa Taub as they twirled him around in the air (15 months, 11 days old):
Back at the house, my dad and I were on a mission to make Monkey Bread for the first time. The bread was good, but the fun of making it was the best (even with a burned finger):
The morning Grammy and Grandpa Taub left, we got some pictures on Graham showing off his first letterman jacket, playing piano with Grandpa Taub, and banging on Grammy Taub’s computer (something he can’t get away with on Mommy and Daddy’s watch) (15 months, 14 days old):
Some final pictures with Grammy and Grandpa Taub and it was time to say bye bye. I love these pictures; look left, look right, kiss! (15 months, 14 days old):
Thanks everyone for a great week of fun family time!
