Mr. Perfect

According to Murphy’s Law, the day I finalized Graham’s blog book with the printers, I discover several errors.  But… I am at peace with it and still very excited to give Graham his first year book (even with a few corrections needed).
For the record, my dad will be known to Graham as Grandpa Taub, not Papa Jay and I didn’t proofread ‘Tammy’s Gear Picks’ before uploading a copy to the blog, but the biggest error in Graham’s book is that I forgot to list one of our very favorite nicknames for Graham.

MR. PERFECT

In fact, Graham has a huge repertoire of ‘Mr.’ nicknames because he is a big fan of the Mr. Men series.  We ordered him the complete set all the way from the UK.  When he was an infant, he loved all the bright colors and silly stories.  We are hoping that he will be reading the books to himself in a few years.  When Graham thinks back to all the nicknames his silly mommy and daddy called him, we want to make sure that our Mr. Happy, Mr. Sleepy, Mr. Smiley, Mr. Hungry, Mr. Mischievous little guy knows that we spent the first year of his life calling him Mr. Perfect (14 months, 7 days old):

Graham had a few other adventures this week, to report.
My old rowing friend, Renda, came to town (from North Carolina) so Graham got some quality time with her and my other rowing friends, Alethea and Daune, watching the Oscars and going out to eat (14 months, 5 days old):

He also really impressed mommy and daddy with his latest trick.  He can open a dresser drawer and take out a brush and then when we ask him to brush his hair, he does just that!  The cutest part is that he brushes his hair forwards just like his daddy (14 months, 3 days old):

He continues to work on his talking.  He has a special routine with both Mommy and Daddy.
Mommy’s routine:
     Graham: Do
Mommy:  Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti
     Graham: Do
Daddy’s routine (you will see that Graham is still working on this one):
Daddy: Graham, what does a cow say?
     Graham: Moo
Daddy: Graham, what does a dog say?
     Graham: Woof, woof
Daddy: Graham, what does a duck say?
     Graham: Duck!

Graham rounded out the week with a really fun play date with his friend Penelope.  It was the first time that I felt the two of them really played WITH each other.  They shared a snack, played peek-a-boo around the edge of a tunnel, and had a grand time pointing at each other’s noses (14 months, 6 days old):
