Graham has been busily growing up and I thought I would report some of his activities over the past few weeks.
Graham has become quite the little flirt. When he is pulling out all the stops, he bats his eyelashes. Nick and I have no idea where he picked this up, but he does it every time he really wants to charm someone. In my humble opinion, I think he needs to work on refining his technique before he can lure in any young ladies with this look, but he definitely gives it his all (14 months, 8 days old):
At 14 months, 13 days old, Graham took his last bath in his big boy plastic bathtub and has officially graduated to the full-sized bathtub. Graham loves playing with his drums and rubber duckies in the big bathtub with Daddy.
Now that Graham is steady on his feet and walking/running consistently, he has discovered the joy of being able to use his hands for something other than crawling. He loves carrying anything long like an umbrella or wrapping paper roll. He also loves carrying Mommy’s sharp keys, but that is another topic.
Any long object that Graham can find, he will carry around with him everywhere. A particular favorite is the Bug Wand (14 months, 8 days old):
However, the Bug Wand may have been replaced. We were out shopping when (on an impulse) Mommy decided that Graham was ready for his first lightsaber. Graham was hooked immediately. Wherever our little Jedi goes, his lightsaber goes with him (14 months, 9 days old):
Graham has been testing out some new beverages. He drank his fruit/veggie juice out of the tiny straw all by himself, and the other drink… well, um, no comment (14 months, 15 days old):
Our little boy, who has been the spitting image of Daddy since day one, may even be starting to show a resemblance to Mommy. Two pictures of Graham and two picture of me. What do you think?:
In his old age, Graham has begun the transition to one nap a day, but thankfully he makes the nap a real doozy at 2-4 hours long. He answers Daddy with “do” when asked what a piano says, and he yells “ahhhhhhhhhhh” as he walks, prompting us to joke that he does not know that he is capable of walking without making noise. With the discovery of 3 great parks within walking distance of our house, Graham now enjoys several trips to the park each week.
On the parenting front, we received Graham’s blog book and we are absolutely thrilled with it. It turned out perfectly and we had such a wonderful time flipping through the pages (198 to be exact) and reliving some great memories. We can’t wait until Graham is old enough to enjoy it for himself.
One year and one book down, a lifetime to go :)
