The stats are in!

Graham had his 18 month doctor’s appointment today.  He got a GREAT review!  Graham’s ‘gruffling’ is almost completely gone and aside from some mild eczema he is perfectly healthy :)  The doctor was especially pleased with Graham’s language development.  He said a toddler Graham’s age should know 10-15 words and Graham knows more than we can count (at least 50-100).  During the visit we talked about big kid activities like potty training, preschool, a dentist appointment, and transitioning to a regular bed.  We are still many months away from those things but it was crazy that Graham is old enough to start talking about them.

And now for the stats... at 18 months, 5 days old, our little boy is:
  • 32 ¼ inches long – 50th percentile,
  • weighs 26.2 lbs – 50th percentile,
  • and has a 48 ½ cm head circumference – 80th percentile.
So, our boy is finally catching up in weight, while maintaining that nice big head (to house his nice big brain).

Before the doctor arrived, Graham kept himself busy by looking through the supply drawers:

He wasn’t super happy about getting measured and having his temperature taken:

but it was all worth it, when the doctor gave him some stickers at the end of the appointment:

Other Cute Antics and Noteworthy Tidbits from this week:
  • After our visit to the doctor (and the talk we had) Graham sat on a potty for the first time!  He was playing with Auntie Alethea while I was making dinner and when he started telling her about a “poo poo” and pulling her towards the bathroom, she asked if she should put him on the potty and I said to go for it.  Graham looked very serious and sat there for a long time, but nothing much happened.  His favorite part was getting his hands washed at the end.
  • We had a super fun breakfast out to congratulate our mommy friend Natalie on getting a promotion at work.  The sad part was that she will now be going back to work full time and we won’t have as many walking and play dates with Natalie and Rylan.  We all had a chance to pose for pictures before the yummy food came.  Afterwards, they closed off a section of the restaurant and Graham ran around checking all the doors while Laurie entertained the rest of the kids with bubbles.  I think the babies had as much fun as the mommies at this breakfast (18 months, 4 days old):

  • Graham has gotten into the habit of taking a quick rest on anything and everything that is soft.  When we were in the bathroom, he pulled down the towels for a quick snooze before Mommy could stop him.  So cute! (18 months, 1 day old):
  • Graham now has a bedtime ritual that I call his love laps.  He seems to know when it is about time for bed, so he gets really active (to burn off some energy while he still can).  In addition to lots of loud yelling, giggling, and singing, he runs at full speed down the hall and bangs his hands into the wall, yelling “boom.”  Then he turns around and runs at full speed towards me or Nick and wraps our legs in a big hug.  He usually runs about 10 ‘love laps’ before he gets tired and is ready for bed <3
Sweet dreams big boy.
