Another visit with Zaney K. (17 months, 15 days old)

My friend Leslie was visiting from Washington, so Elizabeth (mama of Zane) came to Santa Barbara to allow the three of us to get in some good girl time.  We got, not one, but two visits in the same week!  The first day, we hung out at my house and caught up while the kids played.  Zane didn’t know what to think of Graham’s big blocks:

On the second visit, we planned to walk along the beach.  Leslie helped Graham get some energy out (while making sure he stayed safe with his monkey backpack) so he would be happy in his stroller during the walk:

Zane didn’t get in any warm-up laps, so a few minutes into the walk, he decided he needed to crawl around instead of going for the walk.  I knew Graham would want to run wild, so we searched for a place that could contain Graham while letting Zane get in some crawling.  We happened to be right across the street from Santa Barbara City College’s track and we spotted the fully netted and enclosed shot put cage.  Bingo!  We 'snuck' in through an opening in the mesh and had a great afternoon while the boys let off some steam.
