Wow, our baby put himself to bed! (6 months, 27 days old)

Graham has been an excellent sleeper for months, but part of our routine is rocking Graham to bed on his exercise ball.  We watch for cues of when he is getting tired and then it usually only takes a minute or two to rock him to sleep if we get the timing right.  If we get the timing wrong the rocking takes much longer but always works.  Tonight he didn't seem to want to go to bed.  He was in his SleepSack with the pacifier in his mouth, but singing, rocking, and stories didn't seem to put him to sleep, so we finally let him go back to play in his playpen.  After several minutes of playing with his toys, we glanced over to find him SOUND ASLEEP!  Way to go Baby Graham, you tired yourself out and made it to sleep land all by yourself.  Mommy and Daddy couldn't be prouder.

  1. Oh you are on your way tot he next stage and it's so so nice when they can lay in their crib happily and then help themselves to go to sleep. It builds great sleeping ability for later years. And now you can have more adult time in the evening too! :-)
