We have had three ultrasounds.
The goal of the first ultrasound was basically to confirm that there was a baby in the right place and to determine how many babies were in there, so this is the very first picture of our little guy (January 9th, 2012 – almost 11 weeks pregnant):
Our next ultrasound was part of a sequential screening to determine the health of the baby and the percentage of risk for certain conditions. It was also an opportunity to pinpoint the due date. We ended up getting our best pictures from this ultrasound because the doctor was being observed by a medical resident and spent a long time showing off the different advanced technical features of the ultrasound machine. There are a few still shots with the baby’s legs extended. In those shots, he was actually twisting and dancing around (January 26th, 2012 – 13 weeks pregnant):
The purpose of the last ultrasound was to determine the gender of the baby. For some reason, all these pictures ended up being really blurry :( These will be the last pictures we get of our little guy in utero unless we go for a ‘vanity’ ultrasound or there are some concerns with the pregnancy which would warrant another ultrasound. He is sucking his thumb/has his hands up by his face in the first pictures, we got to see his well formed spine and his heart working in the next set of pictures, and we ‘clearly’ learned the gender and got some hands and feet shots in the last group of pictures (March 14th, 2012 - 20 weeks pregnant):
Although I’ve taken almost no belly pictures, here is a glimpse of what Baby Boy #2 looks like from the outside (May 2nd, 2012 – 27 weeks pregnant):

I love!!!
