Happy Mother’s Day to Me (2 years, 4 months, 20 days old)

I had a lovely Mother’s Day this year.
We started off with breakfast of some special cinnamon rolls that I have been craving for months.  Let me just tell you, they lived up to expectations (and memory) and did not disappoint!
After breakfast, we started to get ready for our outing, but first, Graham surprised me with the sweetest “I love you, happy Mother's Day” phrase.  Lucky me, I got it on video:

My request for Mother’s day was that we take Graham on his first boat ride.  There is a little water taxi (called Lil’ Toot) that goes between the pier and the harbor and I thought it would be perfect for Graham.  We were out the door nice and early because I wanted to make sure we successfully got a spot on the boat.  Well… it turned out that we arrived almost 2 hours before the first boat set sail.  Ooops!
Since we had some extra time to kill, we decided to go to the Sea Center.
Graham had a great time showing Daddy how brave he was, petting the sharks and exploring the interactive activities in the new jellyfish exhibit:

After the Sea Center, we still had time before Lil' Toot was set to take off, so we decided to walk to the harbor and then take the boat back to the pier.  When we got to the harbor, we tried (but somewhat unsuccessfully) to get some mommy/son Mother’s day pictures:

Next, we took Graham to the Maritime Museum where Mommy and Daddy had their wedding reception.  Graham’s favorite parts were the outside fish with the sparkly tail and the huge ship wheel:

Finally, the wait was over and Graham got to board Lil' Toot:

We ended up being the only passengers and the captain invited Graham to steer the boat.  He was doing the actual steering and the captain just corrected the course every so often:

When Graham was done steering, he went back to sit with Daddy and enjoy the view.  He had a look of discomfort and extreme concern on his face the entire time:

But once we got off the boat, Graham couldn’t stop talking (for days) about how much fun he had and how he couldn’t wait to ride Lil' Toot again:

Mother’s Day finished up with Daddy giving Mommy the rest of the afternoon/evening off of Graham duty and Graham presenting Mommy with a handmade card (with just a little help from Daddy):
