Graham is 9 months old!

Graham had a busy 9 month birthday day.

During his morning ‘rounds’ about his playpen, he paused so I could get a picture of him on his actual birthday (it almost looks like he is walking at full speed):
He woke up to the news that his formula had been recalled!  With no solution from the company in sight, we used our stash of pre-made formula (not recalled) and explored some more ‘real’ food options.  At this point, Graham is trying new foods every day, so I will stop recording and reporting each new food.  The one thing of note was the introduction of his new 9+ months chunky baby food.  Graham and I were in high spirits as we sang the ‘you’re going to try beef for the first time’ song.  I had selected a beef pilaf for his first ‘chunky’ meal.  He was all smiles and opened his mouth extra wide for the first bite and then everything came to a screeching halt.  Graham’s solution to the chunks was simply to spit everything out of his mouth.  I took a few pictures of my big boy finally joining his peers with messy eating photos.  We are now working on slowly introducing the chunky food and he is doing much better:

Since he was such a big 9 month birthday boy, I thought he was due another go at playing in the grass.  We went out to our front yard and after some initial skepticism, Graham began crawling around and quite enjoyed himself.  We played the ‘fetch the water bottle’ game:

He also had some grown up baby boy adventures in the house.  His nursery and the hallway are now mostly baby proofed so Graham had a ball exploring on his own.  He loved playing with his friend in the mirror:
He also discovered some new play options surrounding his playpen.  Here he is opening one of the drawers on the console table, which we thought was out of reach.  Doesn’t our mischievous boy look proud of himself:

He finished off his birthday day with a rough birthday night.  He now has 8 (yes, 8!) teeth (4 on top and 4 on the bottom) and the 8th tooth decided to make its appearance at around 1am.  He woke up with a sore mouth and a runny nose.  Thanks to the humidifier and Orajel, he got back to sleep relatively quickly.

Phew, what a day for our very grown up 9 month old baby boy.
