First Eye Exam (8 months, 16 days old)

Graham went for his first eye exam.  Apparently, there is a push for babies under 1 to have their eyes examined to determine if both eyes are developing at the same rate.  I was a little nervous for the eye appointment because Graham was scheduled to have his eyes dilated, but the pediatrician gave the thumbs up so we moved forward.  The eye doctor was fabulous with Graham.  She was the new mommy of a baby boy less than a month younger than Graham so she was wonderful with him.  Graham had a grand time playing with her throughout the exam:
We had a 10 minute wait in the office after his eyes were dilated and before the final portion of the exam.  Graham discovered a chair in the corner of the office and LOVED it.  The chair was made up of a number of bungee cords and Graham banged on them like a drum.  He also used the chair as a stabilizing point as he explored the wall next to the chair.  I got a video of him searching the wall for hand holds.  At one point, he ended up against the wall and was shimming along it like Spider-Man.  Unfortunately, I didn’t get that last part on film:
After the exam, Graham sported his brand new sunglasses and Mommy’s floppy hate to keep his dilated eyes shielded from the sun during out walk home:
Finally, the excitement of the visit caught up with him:
I’m happy to report that Graham passed the eye exam with flying colors and the doctor does not need to see him again until he is 3 years old :)
