First Doctor’s Appointment (4 days old)

On August 7th, Carter went in for his first doctor’s appointment.  The basic goal of the appointment was to check if he was growing well and to address any concerns we may have had:

Happily relaxing on the exam table before the poking and prodding began:

Getting height, head circumference, and temperature taken:

Weight wasn’t quite as fun:

Recovering and then practicing some tummy time before the doctor came in:

An exam is always easier when you are in Daddy’s lap:

One final test before leaving!  We showed the doctor a picture of Carter’s lower lip turning slightly blue while he slept.  We had noticed this before leaving the hospital and Carter had been monitored and tested several times to make sure he wasn’t having any issues with his oxygen levels.  The doctors and nurses at the hospital concluded that there were no issues and Carter just had pale skin and pronounced veins, but our doctor decided to test his oxygen levels one more time to be sure.  Our boy passed and is as healthy as can be:

Daddy got Carter dressed again and we headed home:

So the stats after navigating through four days of life…
7 lbs, 10 oz – 52nd percentile
20.24 inches – 69th percentile
13.58 inch head – 44th percentile
