Swimming Update (2 years, 7 months old)

Graham continues to do well with his swim lessons.  He is spending a lot more time on breath control and his kicking technique.  His lessons usually consist of a quick crab walk around the pool and then swimming on his own to the steps, edge, and his instructor’s waiting arms.  He also has practiced jumping off the edge, floating on his back, and going underwater to retrieve toys that are out of his reach.  He currently swims as long as he can until his teacher pulls him up and has him take a breath and then goes for a second round.  His next step will be learning how to pull his own head far enough out of the water to take a breath and continue swimming.
His teacher introduced goggles at his last lesson and I got a cute picture of Graham ‘tolerating’ his goggles and a video of our little super star swimming towards his teacher all by himself (while remembering to hold his breath and kick)!

  1. Wow he's doing really good Tammy! Forrest is a little behind him. For us it's more getting Forrest used to wearing the lifejacket and appreciating
how it "helps" him swim because of the fact we're on a river. We plan on getting him in swimming lessons this fall. This summer we are either in the pool or river 5 days a week so we're working on skills there as well. It's so fun to see these little people progress!
