My mom came to stay with the boys.
The morning we left, Graham climbed into Grammy's bed for a sweet morning snuggle:
The first stop on our getaway was Montaña De Oro. We set off on a beautiful walk:
At one point, Nick decided to stop for a brief rest on a bench - ahh the luxury of an adventure without kids:
Next up, we were off to the Madonna Inn. We love this cheesy, quirky hotel. We stayed in the Old Fashioned Honeymoon room and were greeted with a bottle of pink champaign:
That night (our actual anniversary), we ate in the hotel restaurant and continued the pink theme with a hot pink booth and a celebratory pink champaign cake dessert:
The next morning, I had breakfast outside and enjoyed a view of the mountains through the decorative balcony framework:
After a nice sleep in, we picked up our box lunches and headed to Santa Margarita to go zip lining!
We boarded a shuttle bus and were driven into the ranch to our first line:
The first zip line was the highest and the longest and we both were a little nervous about what to expect:
After conquering the first line, the rest (4 total) were easy:
When the tour ended, we headed to the Ancient Peaks Winery (wine produced from vineyards we had flown over on our zip lines) for a tasting:
Three bottles of wine (purchased not drunk) later, we were on our way to our beloved Cambria.
We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and enjoying dinner at our favorite restaurant and saved our favorite coastal walks for the next morning.
We started with a visit to "our bench" where we got engaged:
Next, we walked the full length of Moonstone Beach Drive:
And we ended with a walk along the bluffs of Fiscalini Ranch. Such a beautiful area:
When we got home, it didn't look like Graham missed us too much:
Thanks Grammy for taking care of the boys while we had a wonderful, wonderful, WONDERFUL anniversary getaway.
